A Prayer and Healing Concert
When: Oct 22, Friday, 7:30 PM
Where: St. Francis Xavier, 30W 16th St. (bet. 5th and 6th Ave), New York, NY [map]

The Philippine-New York Jaycees, in cooperation with the Catholic Fellowship of Young Filipino Professionals and San Lorenzo Ruiz Choir, proudly supports the upcoming spiritual concert by Himig Heswita, entitled “Be Not Afraid," hosted by the Ateneo Alumni Northeast, Inc. (AANI). Himig Heswita is a group of religious singers, composers and musicians consisting mainly of Jesuit priests, Cenacle sisters, and laymen.

The St. Francis Xavier concert is one of a series of New York events that Himig Heswita will conduct to bring hope and healing to the Filipino community in the midst of the global recession. Their upcoming concerts will feature Himig Heswita’s brand of spiritual healing through contemplative songs that aim to touch, move and uplift their listeners.

In addition to the spiritual experience that these concerts aim to bring, proceeds from the event will also benefit Jesuit elders in the Philippines who can hardly cope with the increasing cost of medicine and healthcare.

The Jaycees are offering tickets to our members, members of San Lorenzo Ruiz Choir, members of the Catholic Fellowship of Young Filipino Professionals, and other Friends of Jaycees at a discounted price of $15 until October 1, 2010. After that, tickets will be sold at the face amount of $20.
