A regular member may be elected in absentia provided such member has filed a signed letter of intent to run for a specific office [refer to Article IV Sections 7 & 8 of the Chapter's By-Laws]. To determine who regular members are, please refer to Article I. Also, a kind reminder to renewed members who have not yet paid their membership fees when their membership renewal month has passed, kindly settle your bills in order for you to be considered in good standing. (You may not run for office and cannot cast a vote if you are not in good standing.) IMMEDIATE NEXT STEPS Per Article IV Section 2 of the Chapter's By-Laws, "the Committee on Election shall submit the names of candidates for elective offices during the monthly meeting prior to the annual election meeting." Therefore, we ask that you inform us of your intention to run for office before our next GMM/BOD meeting on Sept 16, 2021 (Thursday). And if there are no official candidates, all nominations for members who intend to run for office must be nominated on the day of the Elections. Please be present during the Election day or submit your signed letter of intent to this email address [email protected]. WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS MESSAGE? I am sending you this message not only to inform you of the upcoming elections and ask that you be present... but, more importantly to encourage any one of you who may be interested to hold a position for 2022 to step up and run for office. We hope to see you there, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of the 2021 officers if you are interested to be an officer next year and if you have any questions about this matter.
